Even ChatGPT can’t overcome my ADHD

I asked ChatGPT to help me with task management. Below you’ll see the steps it gave me, and in italics I will write my commentary about how it would work with ADHD.

I struggle with this because even when I know which tasks might need to get done first, my ADHD brain does not want to do that one probably. (Deadlines only instill fear and dread, until I finally complete the task at the very last minute and say to myself “if only I had more time”)

  4. Break down larger tasks: If you have large projects or tasks, break them down into smaller, more manageable steps. This will make it easier to tackle them and help you avoid feeling overwhelmed. (No, because then I get overwhelmed and just give up on the entire thing)

  5. Schedule your tasks: Use a calendar or planner to schedule your tasks throughout the day or week. This will help you allocate time for each task and ensure that you stay on schedule. (I love to schedule tasks, but do not love to actually do them once the reminder goes off)

  6. Review your progress: Regularly review your task list to see what you’ve accomplished and what still needs to be done. This will help you stay motivated and focused on your goals. (This would only make me feel bad for not doing more, and feel dread for all that I still need to complete)
